The Architecture of Silence

In Ladakh’s high villages, a generation is being left behind as children migrate to cities for "progress." This isn't just a story; it is a silent epidemic of loneliness.

Dutpa follows Amma, who ties frantic, intricate knots on everything she touches—ropes, cloth, grain bags. Each knot is a desperate attempt to hold her family and her life together. As the line between memory and isolation blurs, her meticulous acts turn into a frantic struggle against an unravelling mind.

With minimalist Himalayan silence and the quiet poetry of endurance, this film mirrors the hidden tragedy of thousands across rural Asia. I made Dutpa to awaken empathy for those bearing the emotional cost of a rushing world. When fragile bonds loosen, the heart suffers alone.
